8/27/11 A Disturbance in the Air

I essentially slept the whole flight.  I would have slept more were it not for the “know it all”.  He was seated behind me and felt that mass public transit was the perfect time to start teaching his son about everything.  Among the many topics in the in-flight curriculum: The economics of fuel consumption in planes and how it relates to cargo weight.  To a 9-yeal old?  Oh, come on!  After he finished the last of his long and involved diatribes he concluded by saying to his son: “It took me forty four years to get to Italy, it only took you nine.”
For some, there’s no finer life lesson than the one delivered through a parental guilt trip.
